The pharmacy was situated at the lower end of Perlegade, which was especially badly hit by the bombardment. Several of the neighbouring buildings were so badly damaged that they had to be pulled down, but the pharmacy itself apparently came through the shelling more or less unscathed. Contemporary photographs of the facade show a single hit and a more or less undamaged roof.  Nonetheless, the owner received 1,340 Rixdollars in compensation – about half the amount paid to the owner of Perlegade 11, which was completely destroyed.. 

When the bombardment began, the General Staff was billeted at the Pharmacy, but chose that very day to decamp to Ulkebøl.
